editing services  for the busy

WEDDING

photographer

hey there  photographer!

Let me help you get more time back to spend with the people that you love!  By outsourcing your editing, you can spend time on the things in your business that only YOU can do, and leave the editing to me.  I pride myself on making the outsourcing process simple and easy and maintaining excellent communication with my clients.  I know that outsourcing your editing will be a game changer in your business and family life.  I would be happy to be a member of your team and cheer you on in your business and give you the editing support that you need!

As a photographer, you are juggling so many tasks with a huge one being editing.  It can get overwhelming when all of those wedding catalogs are piling up and you feel like you are spending forever behind the computer and not with your precious kiddos who desperately want to spend time with you.

I see you working so hard on all the things!

I first became interested in photography about ten years ago when my husband and I and our three small kids packed up everything and moved from Texas to Norway.  I was very hesitant at first, but it was a great job opportunity for him and it was a good move for our family, so we decided to go for it.  I'm so glad we ended up going because the country of Norway is just beautiful and I wanted to capture every moment in pictures.  We spent two years there, and then just a few years later, we found ourselves in Newfoundland, Canada.  It was another beautiful place and this time I wanted to learn how to use my camera correctly and learn manual mode and editing.  I took some photography and editing classes there and have been hooked ever since!  I love landscape, portrait, and wedding photography and I have to say that my favorite part of photography is the editing process.  I love to work with an image and bring it to life through editing!
Being a private editor is a good fit for me because not only do I love the editing process, I also enjoy serving other photographers by editing their catalogs and giving them some of their precious time back.  I love the relationships that I build with each of my clients since working one on one allows for lots of communication and feedback.  I also enjoy contributing to the beautiful memories that are made by wedding couples.

In my free time, I love to play tennis and hang out with my family.  We have a great time playing board games and watching movies together!  When I have the time, I enjoy shooting family and senior portraits.  I also love to travel and enjoy being outdoors and always have a camera in hand to capture it all!  I live in Texas, so I'm always looking for the best local Tex-Mex restaurants.  I grew up in Louisiana though, so Cajun cuisine will always be my first love (hello gumbo and jambalaya)!

I'm Laura, a wife, mom to three teenagers and two fur babies (please pray for me)!

Providing boutique private editing services for busy wedding photographers, so they can get valuable time back to do the things they love and spend time with the people they love!

editing services

I specialize in Lightroom edits and offer both basic and additional services.  My basic edits include white balance, exposure, straightening, color correction/hsl sliders, color grading adjustments, lens correction, tone curve adjustments, and preset application.  Additional services include culling, masking and brush adjustments, and Photoshop edits upon request (including retouching, cloning, and background distraction removal).  We will come up with a custom turnaround time that works for you and your workflow.

As your private editor, I will always be the one working on your catalogs and know how you like things done (unlike with a big box editing company where you will get a different editor each time).  We will have more of a relationship where feedback and communication can take place as often as needed.  I will follow your lead in learning your personal editing style.  My favorite edits are light and airy, classic and clean, and timeless style edits, but I can learn any photographers editing style.  Having a private editor on your team will help you have more balance in your family life and you can go ahead and have that family movie or game night or go to that school event or basketball game guilt free!

THE PROCESS

Frequently Asked Questions

You are totally ready if you find yourself completely overwhelmed, staying up for yet another late night behind the computer, and missing that all important playtime with your kids.  Or, if you have had to turn down potential clients or not able to give your current clients the attention you would like to.  Also, if you have ever had to leave other important work tasks incomplete because of editing deadlines, you may be ready to outsource.

Since each catalog I receive is carefully edited to match each photographer's unique editing style, viewing a portfolio wouldn't be an effective indicator to check my skill level or what services I can provide for you.  I am currently offering a complimentary trial run, so this will give you a good feel for what I can do!

Your editing style is so unique and personal to you.  It may be scary if you think you are giving this up, but you are not!  As your editor, I will follow your lead and learn how to edit in your style.  You will still need to provide edits (called pre-edits) and these are usually taken from a blog post or sneak peak post.

02.  Do you have a portfolio?

01.  How do I know if I am ready to outsource?

03.  Will I be giving up artistic control?

You will send your catalogs using Lightroom smart previews through Dropbox.  The process is such a time saver and fairly simple to do. I will be able to walk you through the whole process.

Yes, I will edit portrait sessions!  I have a minimum charge of $50 per session.  So, any catalog that is less than 143 images will have a flat fee of $50.

As a private editor, I will always be the one working on your editing and I will be your "right hand man" that knows how you like things done.  Big box editing companies will give you multiple editors to work with which makes it tough for them to learn your style.  We will have more of a relationship where feedback and communication can take place as often as needed.

Yes, I do have a contract that is signed annually, but if at any time you need to stop outsourcing I just require 30 days notice to plan for loss of projected income.
